Interesting fact:

Some landmarks are rather more isolated than others. The Tree of Ténéré was thought to be the most isolated tree in the world – the only landmark for 250 miles. A small, unassuming acacia tree, it was a vital landmark for travelers crossing the desert. Surely no damage could come to something so isolated? You’d think so, but even a tree so isolated can’t escape the stupidity of some humans. It was reportedly knocked down by a drunk driver in the 1970s!
