The word ‘Quidditch’ was created by J.K. Rowling while she stayed in a small hotel room in Manchester. She came up with it after deciding it should start with the letter ‘Q’. She filled five pages of her notebook with words starting with ‘Q’ before finally settling on the word ‘Quidditch’.
