Everyone watches TV. But how we watch, that's where it gets interesting. Do we binge without shame? Do we secretly judge people who watch dubbed movies? Should TV be educational or an escape from real life? Everyone has an opinion! So we turned these debates into a quick opinion survey to find out what people really think.
Why we ran this survey
FaStreaming has completely changed the way we watch films and TV. We can pause to make a sandwich, rewatch a scene as many times as we like, and there are children growing up today who have never known the joy of a truly fantastic TV commercial because they've only ever known streaming platforms.
With endless choice has come endless opinions. From binge-watching and subtitles to reboots and content fatigue, people have surprisingly strong opinions about how we watch films and TV.
This survey is about getting to the bottom of those opinions. There are no right or wrong answers, just a chance to see where your viewing habits and opinions fit alongside everyone else's.
How people answered the Film & TV debate
Here’s how thousands of people answered some of the biggest questions about Film & TV.
How people answered
"Binge-watching an entire season in one weekend is completely normal."
"Documentaries are less entertaining than scripted movies and shows."
"There’s too much content available, making it hard to actually find something good to watch."
"Watching a movie with subtitles is better than dubbing."
"Reboots and sequels are almost always disappointing compared to the original."
What the results say about our Film & TV habits
One thing almost everyone agreed on? There's simply too much to watch. If the streaming era has taught us anything, it's that content fatigue is real.
Meanwhile, the subtitles-vs-dubbing debate was surprisingly close. Turns out that watching your shows, your way, is more important than anything else!
The real story though? There’s no such thing as “normal”. Whether you're a shameless binger or one-episode-a-night purist, the data shows you're never as alone (or as unusual) as you might think.
