Interesting fact:

There are many similarities between the Federation and real states of today, particularly the United States of America. There is even an Anthem of the UFP. It can be heard in the “Deep Space Nine” episode “Take Me Out to the Holosuite”, where it was played at a baseball game. No lyrics were given, though.
