Have you ever wondered why the English keyboard is set out the way it is, instead of say in alphabetical order? Early typewriters needed to be arranged in such a way that the mechanical rods which held the letters did not clash and jam. The solution was to separate the most commonly used letters and bam, the legacy has continued henceforth.
