In 2008, the United Kingdom experiences its largest earthquake in almost 25 years. According to the Telegraph.co.uk, “Tremors were felt in areas including Merseyside, Birmingham, Leicestershire, Bedfordshire, Northampton, Norfolk, Surrey and Greater London.” The epicentre of the earthquake is about 15 miles north of Lincoln and the British Geological Survey reports it as measuring 5.3 on the Richter scale.
