Interesting fact:

If the sun collapsed into a black hole (which, by the way, won’t happen since the sun isn’t massive enough for that to occur), all life on Earth would freeze within a few weeks due to the lack of warming sunbeams, but other than that, hardly anything would change! Earth would continue its merry orbit, because the newly-born black hole would exert the exact same gravitational force as the sun it was created from. The mass hasn’t changed. So don’t expect a roller coaster ride. Just frostbite.
