In this striking castle, the tallest one of its kind in France, there’s one spirit, in particular, you need to keep a look out for, The infamous Green Lady. Said to be the ghost of one time resident Charlotte de Brézé who lived an unhappy marriage with her husband Pierre. When Charlotte was caught by Pierre having an affair, he was so enraged that he killed her and her lover there and then. Pierre was later driven out of the castle in a fit of madness after being plagued by the eternal sounds of Charlotte’s moans. She now skulks around the castle, wearing green and being generally creepy.
