Cachets and seals are supposed to inform you about a product’s quality, ingredients and/or origin at a quick glance, but not all seals are equally transparent. There are basically three kinds of cachets: state-issued ones that guarantee at least a minimal standard; labels by non-profit organisations, some of which are very credible; and cachets issued by companies that may provide some transparency, but mostly serve the company’s interests.
