Interesting fact:

The look of Santa Claus that we have today was created in 1804 at a meeting of the New York Historical Society. A member handed out wooden cutouts of jolly St. Nick and it clearly left a big impression. Santa’s traditional red suit only came about in the 1930s though, thanks to a popular advertising campaign. Mr. Claus has worn blue, green and white in the past.
