Interesting fact:

The Incas constructed impressive rope bridges made of plaited grasses woven into a cable as thick as a man’s body. As many as a thousand people helped in constructing these bridges, which survived for more than five centuries! These bridges stretched over gorges and rivers and were considered so sacred that anyone who meddled with one was severely punished.
