The Sagrada Familia is impossible to miss if you’re passing through Barcelona. The basilica is architect Antoni Gaudi’s most iconic work. Work began in 1882 and is projected to continue until as late as 2040. This means it will take longer to complete than the Egyptian pyramids! Gaudi based his design on the curves found in nature and was even inspired by the orbit of the stars to design the helicoidal columns.
