Interesting fact:

An incredible amount of detail and foresight went into creating the characters for Futurama. The show’s creators and illustrators chose to dress Leela and Fry in very specific clothes. Leela’s white tank top is an homage to sci-fi heroines, specifically Ripley from Alien, and Fry’s casual look is a nod to James Dean in Rebel Without a Cause.
