Interesting fact:

The proverb, “You can’t have your cake and eat it, too” dates back to at least the early 16th century, but until the 1930s, it was used in the more logical variant “you can’t eat your cake and have it, too.” Using this version instead of the by then common have-eat one was one of the clues that got the Unabomber arrested.
