Churchill, a small town in northern Manitoba, Canada is known as the “Polar Bear Capital of the World.” Every October and November, thousands of polar bears wait on the peninsula for the water in Hudson Bay to freeze over so that they can hunt ringed seals. Churchill locals often leave their cars unlocked so that people can make a quick escape if they encounter a hungry polar bear!
