We all know that ancient Egyptians used hieroglyphs to depict words. This type of writing was very complicated. That’s why those who wanted to become scribers (people who could write in hieroglyphs) started their training at the age of five or six. This job was very honourable and only children from wealthy families could afford to become scribers. They did not have to pay taxes and were exempt from serving in the army. Very convenient, huh?
