Steve McQueen is one of the great action heroes of the silver screen. One of his best outings, ‘The Great Escape’, focused on Allied soldiers and their attempts to escape imprisonment during the Second World War. McQueen’s famous motorbike escape scene took on a rather comical form of realism after the actor himself was actually pulled over and fined by the German police during the production.
