Frank Capra’s masterpiece ‘It Happened One Night’ was the first film in history to properly clean up at the Academy Awards. In 1934, the film won Best Picture, Best Director, Best Lead Actor, Best Lead Actress, and Best Adapted Screenplay. This remarkable achievement would not be repeated until around 40 years later, when ‘One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest’ dazzled the Academy.
