Interesting fact:

Did you notice that Karen Gillan and Peter Capaldi both appear in one episode together? In ‘The Fires of Pompeii’ they play side characters – at the time they had no idea they were going to star in the show! This double appearance by Capaldi was explained by the writers – the Doctor chose the character’s face when he regenerated to remind him he should always save people.
