Cockney rhyming slang follows a formula: ideally with the phrase or first half of the rhyme relating to that word. For instance, ‘Scooby Doo’ is used for ‘clue’, because the much-loved cartoon dog was part of a gang always looking for clues. There is some method behind the madness!
