Did you notice that the Beast is made up of a mixture of different animals? The animator Glen Keane wanted to create a character which looked a bit like a real-life animal. A buffalo is the inspiration for the Beast’s head with a lion’s mane, a boar’s tusks, a bear’s body and a wolf’s legs. It would certainly be terrifying to run into a creature like that on a stormy night!
