Steven Spielberg wrote and directed his first film at the age of 16. It was a feature film, by the way, with a running time of 135 minutes. The budget for it was apparently $500 and the film was originally shown to an audience of 500 people in Arizona, with each viewer paying a dollar for entry. Somehow the director wound up making $501 from the evening. Seems he was already a master of the box office in his teens, huh? Small beginnings, folks.
