Did you know that the iconic shot of Elliott and E.T. flying across the moon was a “real” shot? Well, obviously the kids weren’t flying, but the cinematographer and his team searched for weeks to find the right location to shoot a low moon among trees. Elliott and E.T. are puppets that were added with special effects in post-production, but the rest of the shot is real!
