When Lisa Kudrow became pregnant with her first child the Friends producers were left with a quandary – do they write the pregnancy into the show or try to cover it up? They decided to write a crazy storyline to suit Phoebe’s character in which she agrees to be a surrogate for her half-brother and his wife. And of course, she ends up with triplets!
