Each year the new students of Dr. Seuss’s former college Dartmouth participate in a trip into the wilderness – they are served Green Eggs and Ham in the morning in tribute to Dr. Seuss. Nowadays Dr. Seuss’s birthday is celebrated across America as ‘National Read Across America Day’ an initiative to encourage children’s literacy.
