Flags can be a confusing business. Canada once welcomed the Prime Minister of Australia with the flag of New Zealand. Awkward. The people of New Zealand recently had a referendum asking whether they should change their flag, and welcomed submissions from its citizens. These included kiwi birds with shooting lasers from their eyeballs, which would of certainly brightened things up in the endless Olympic Games Opening Ceremony.
