You’ve probably heard that Mexico City is frequently afflicted by earthquakes. But did you know that the megalopolis sinks 10–15 centimetres (4-6 inches) each year? This is because the city was built over a lake. In the last 60 years, it has sunk about 10 metres (32 feet)!
