For the 2014 World Cup, Brazil had the greatest expenditure of all time out of any country to have ever hosted the football competition. Bloomberg estimated that Brazil spent $14.5 billion dollars! To put this in to perspective, the last five tournaments had a combined cost of $15.32 billion dollars.
