Isengard is the stronghold of the dark wizard Saruman. Saruman was part of the same group of wizards as Gandolf but he turned evil after he began to desire the power of the One Ring. But as Gandolf tells him, “There is only one Lord of the Ring, only one who can bend it to his will. And he does not share power.”
