Have you ever heard of ‘terms of venery’? These are terms which describe groups of animals. If you want to talk about a group of geese they are a ‘gaggle’ and hippopotami come in a ‘bloat’. And if you’re unlucky enough to encounter a group of mosquitoes, you should call them ‘a scourge’ (as you run swiftly away!). Perhaps crows have the strangest term – they are called a ‘murder’.
