Interesting fact:

Nativity scenes are often depicted with animals, like sheep, goats and donkeys. The Bible makes no mention of these, however. In fact, it would be highly unsanitary to have livestock nearby during birth. Mary did however, lay the baby in “a manger”, which is another word for a feeding trough.
