Anne Boleyn was sophisticated and intelligent. She persuaded Henry VIII to leave his first wife, Catherine of Aragon, to marry her. For a long time she held considerable power at court, this power turned into her downfall. Once Henry lost interest she was accused of adultery, high treason and even witchcraft! She was executed at Henry’s order making way for him to marry four more times before his death.
