Queen Victoria inherited the throne at the age of eighteen after her uncle, King William IV, died without children. During her 63-year reign, there were seven assassination attempts made on Victoria’s life. All failed and Victoria even said that they made her more popular writing to her daughter that, ‘It is worth being shot at to see how much one is loved’.
