King Henry VIII had an impressive six wives during his reign! His request to annul his first marriage was refused by the Catholic Church. Would Henry let that stop him? No fear! Henry set up the Church of England instead with himself as the head of the church. He then went onto divorce two more of his wives and even sentenced two others to death! The British monarch remains the head of the church to this day.
