The driest place on earth is the Atacama Desert in Chile. There are places in the desert in which rain has NEVER been recorded. The average rainfall for the whole region is just 1mm per year and barely anything is able to grow in this arid climate. The temperature is extreme too: going from 104° F (40° C) during the day and 41° F (5° C) at night.
