Interesting fact:

The setting for the Gilmore Girls, Stars Hollow, was inspired by a trip that the creator, Amy Sherman-Palladino, took through Connecticut. She was amazed by the small town feel of the place where everybody in the diners knew each other. 24 hours after the trip she had already written some of the pilot’s dialogue!
