Interesting fact:

It took 22 years for the Taj Mahal to be built, with construction beginning in 1631. It was built by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan for his wife, Mumtaz Mahal. Mumtaz was a Muslim Persian princess and she and the emperor were very much in love.
