George Lucas adopted the name Corsuscant for the Galactic capital from a Star Wars novel. It was originally named Had Abbadon. Although the pronunciation of the planet’s name differs from that English word “coruscant”, its meaning is quite adequate to a world glittering with innumerable lights.
