Interesting fact:

A scene showing Han Solo talking to Jabba the Hutt was filmed for "A New Hope". This Jabba was merely a rotund human, and the scene didn’t make it into the final cut. When George Lucas released the special edition of the film, the scene was put back in, with the human Jabba replaced by a CGI slug.
