Interesting fact:

Peter Cushing, who portrayed Grand Moff Tarkin, was given a pair of costume boots that proved to be too tight and painful to wear. Since other boots weren’t available, the problem was solved by filming Cushing from the waist up - while he was wearing carpet slippers! His fellow actors reportedly had a hard time keeping a straight face during shoots.
