Interesting fact:

The monk Martin Luther is said to be the first person to put lights on a Christmas tree. On Christmas Eve Luther went out into the forest and saw the stars shining through the tree branches. He found it so beautiful that he wanted to show it to his children – so he brought a tree inside and decorated it with candles.
