Snowman have been around since medieval times! At a time when drawing materials were in short supply, snow provided the perfect opportunity for making art. Even Michelangelo was commissioned to sculpt a snowman for the ruler of Florence in 1494! In 1511 the citizens of Brussels built over 100 snowmen in a feat called ‘The Miracle of 1511’.
