Did you ever wonder what makes the pacifier-sucking noise of Maggie Simpson? It’s actually Matt Groening, the creator of the show! But when it came to Maggie’s first word the writers decided to get someone really special in. Maggie said ‘Daddy’ in 1992 and was voiced by Elizabeth Taylor. After Elizabeth Taylor’s death, the Simpsons made a tribute to her in one of their episodes. They put up a picture of Maggie playing in her crib with the words, ‘dedicated to the memory of Elizabeth Taylor’.
