These two reptile groups are very close relatives but upon closer inspection there are some glaring differences. One has a more pointed snout and due to this they “grin” quite differently—you’ll notice that one likes to flash their teeth more than the other. One also prefers to live in saltwater habitats while the other in freshwater marshes and lakes. The only environment on Earth in which alligators and crocodiles coexist in harmony is the famous Florida Everglades.
