In the film ‘Castle in the Sky’, composer Joe Hisaishi had to re-score the film for Western audiences, as producers thought they wouldn’t be comfortable with large gaps in the music. In the original film, the 124 minute movie contains just one hour of music, leaving plenty of space for atmospheric gaps.
