Interesting fact:

Michael Jordan, widely-regarded as the greatest basketball player ever and one of the most famous people to ever live, was not selected as the first overall draft pick. His "Airness" was picked third overall in 1984, behind fellow hall-of-famer Hakeem Olajuwon and the injury prone Sam Bowie. It was the Portland Trailblazers that passed on Jordan for Bowie, and it goes without saying that has gone down as one of the biggest blunders in sports history. Hindsight is everything though.
