Interesting fact:

A month after departing New York Harbor for Genoa, bound with industrial cargo, this ship in question was spotted drifting some 400 miles east of the Azores. Aboard it was a most perplexing case: a ship under full sail but not a single soul above or below deck. There was no sign of any struggle and a six-month supply of rations was amongst the supplies. All of the freight was left untouched, but the lifeboat and most of the ship’s navigational tools were missing. There are endless speculations as to the mysterious fate of the crew, including mutiny, calamity and giant squid attacks—but perhaps the only certainty is that this case will continue to fascinate.
