Interesting fact:

The Easter Island statues have very distinctive characteristics such as rectangle-shaped ears, deep eye slits, large, broad noses and no legs. The majority are found along the coast and face inland towards the community, yet some also appear to face the coast. The statues are not the only puzzling things on the island: a set of glyphs called “Rongorongo” were discovered in the 19th century and remain to this date undecipherable. It is thought they may contain clues about the giant heads scattered around the Polynesian island.
