Interesting fact:

In Singapore, there is a traditional day called ‘Zhong Yuan Jie’ which translates to ‘Ghost Festival’ or ‘Hungry Ghost Festival’. The custom is for people to throng to the streets offering money and burning joss sticks in tribute to ghosts and spirits. The superstition is that it is a bad time to get married or buy a house. The Ghost Festival usually happens around August.
