Interesting fact:

According to one of the Pokédex entries attributed to Farfetch’d, humans nearly hunted Pokémon into extinction. Thankfully they saw the error of their ways, but the entry does confirm that people in this universe do actually eat Pokémon! Quite an unusual delicacy.
